A designer sees the world in beauty, form and function. This is the greatest benefit of working with a designer, they envision what can be not what isn’t there. This is very evident in the space that Christopher Burns created for his client. As a designer, Christopher speaking of design, “is inspired by projects that defy classification, ones that do not have a precedent,” I couldn’t agree more that allowing the creative process transpire organically with our clients is the beauty of the process. To avoid the element of organic creativity is robbing yourself of the extraordinary. Although, this space is anchored to the past, its modern and present. I hope this post inspires you to not have your home defined by a precedent but by what it can be…telling your own story.
What is so great about this project, is that it was once a century old chicken coop that is now a work studio retreat with all the modern conveniences. They kept the space open by multi-purposing the furniture pieces to house items like media.
Reclaimed wood floors make this space warm and inviting
Old Antique Cast Iron Windows – what a calming view looking out over the pasture.
