Since I just finished reading Markham Roberts newly released design book; I was inspired to write today’s post on the Montana Lodge he designed. I encourage you to buy his new book, its full of wonderful surprise with beautiful compositions to keep you entertained for hours. (Book cover below)
Although this home is rustic and filled with organic beauty, Markham’s design lent a more elegant mix of English rolled arm sofas and eye-catching contemporary art. I really love the dichotomy of his work in this project between European influences and modern sensibility. Markham always mesmerizes us with his daring fusions of style but his constant is through scale, composition and immense textures. Capturing a designer’s work in a capsule is challenging, as a creative there is always another story to tell. But, its hard to not to want to capture beautiful design that speaks of harmony. This home has a great American feel about it; a wonderful example of the true American spirit, traveling unchartered territory where those who dare to dream can only go…I hope you enjoy today’s feature of Markham Roberts.
