FABULOUS HOME FRIDAY: BLACKBERRY FARM
Hi there! I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday. I am ready for the weekend, are you?!
Since, comfort and tradition is on my mind in preparation for the holidays; I thought I would share one of my favorite homes done by Suzanne Kasler. This home is situated in the Foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and is the perfect getaway. What is so great about this property is that you can experience the tranquility and beauty with your families if you are looking for a hideaway. There is the private main house which is what I will show you in the post today, and then there is an idyllic 4,200 acre farm the Beall Family manages called ‘The Barn.” You can take cooking classes from top chefs from all over the country, horseback ride, fly-fish, and have just-laid eggs on your breakfast plate. I want you to see this retreat so I will provide links at the bottom of the post for you. Its a charming escape that makes you feel at home and a part of the family.
The architecture was done by Spitzmiller & Norris, their work is impeccable and timeless.
The Beall Family
When you first walk into their home you will see their dining room. Sam (the owner), as a child had fond memories of a home that he once lived in had the dining room rather than a traditional entry as you walked into the home. This home is all about love, food and gathering together…I actually love this the most about their home. The table is Ainsworth-Noah and that stunning wallcovering is DeGournay.
The antique Biedermeier writing table and chair, at left, is a wonderful layer complimenting the lime-oak washed paneled walls that were constructed from the trees cut down on their property.
I love the Rose Tarlow chairs with the Zimmer + Rohde drapery fabric panels. The Greek-key pillows are Clarence House fabric.
The library is the perfect balance of feminine and masculine. Trim on the Emory sofa from Hickory chair picks up the Greek – key detail that is on the vintage coffee table. And, the jewel of this room are the Old World Weavers, Tiger Lino fabric upholstered chairs.
I really love the heart of the house, the kitchen. Its as if you can almost fill the warmth of the sun cascading through the windows. Family life happens in this space more than any other room within a home, which is why its so important to design a kitchen around love, conversation and happiness. The wide oak plank flooring is perfection.
This is the adjoining sitting area, functions as a second living room. The drapery panels bring color into the space, Robert Kime fabric.
The master bedroom is wrapped in comfort. Bed: Rose Tarlow Melrose House Armchair: Hickory Chair (Suzanne’s collection) with Rose Tarlow fabric.
Master bathroom is complete with a beautiful WaterWorks free-standing tub and an alabaster Vaughn pendant light.
Custom made Mrs. Howard Iron canopy bed graces this fun girl’s bedroom.
I like the bright and sweet color palette in this little girls’ bedroom. The paint is Benjamin Moore Crystal Clear.
